That Harrison Moving And Storage Company, I~c., is hereby granted a use permit <br />pursuant to Section 40-71(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, 1973, to operate a <br />"storage yard" on property described hereafter subject to conditions set forth in Paragraph <br />(3) of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Beginning on the west side of Seventh Street approximately 121 feet <br />north of its intersection with Jefferson Street; thence west 126 feet; <br />thence north 150 feet; thence east 126 feet to the west right-of-way <br />line o£ Seventh Street; thence south along said right-of-way 150 fe~t <br />to the point of origin. <br /> <br />3. This use permit is approved subject to the following condition. <br /> <br /> That an overall site plan, including acceptable arrangements for fencing, screening <br />and landscaping the entire moving van operation, be submitted to and approved by the Ports- <br />mouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority and such plan be submitted to and certified by <br />the City Manager. R-72. <br /> <br />t~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted March 12, 1973, approved the Conservation <br />Redevelopment Plan for the Effingham Project, Va. R-72, Portsmouth, Virginia, adopted by <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority; and <br /> <br />an~t <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval a copy of <br />an amended Conservation And Redevelopment Plan for the project area, adopted January 2, i979, <br />by the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Amendment <br />servation and Redevelopment <br />the City as a whole; and <br /> <br /> No. 2 has been carefully <br />Plan, as amended, conforms <br /> <br />reviewed by this Council and said Con- <br />to the general plan for development of <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority has an approved program for the <br />relocation of individuals and families to be displaced by project activities pursuant to the <br />proposed amended plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this <br />amendment is consistent with the improvement effort in the Effingham Prcject; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the best interest of the City and <br />its inhabitants that sa'id Amendment be approved. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Firginia <br />that Amendment No. 2 to the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Effingham Project, <br />having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby found: <br /> <br /> (a) That the objectives of the Effingham Conservation and Redevelopment Project, <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by adoption of said Amendment. <br /> <br /> (b) That Amendment No. 2 for the project area conforms to the General Plan for the City <br />of Portsmouth as a whole. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Amendment No. 2 of the Bffingham Conservation And Redevelop- <br />ment Plan for the Effingham Project, having been duly reviewed and considered be, and it <br />hereby is, approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed To file a copy of said Amendment <br />with the Minutes of this meeting."
