S. Navy Deperm- <br /> ing Station, Elizabeth River", dated 10-26F7~, revised 12-28-78, <br /> a copy-of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br /> The width of the easement area shall be as necessary and reason- <br />~able ,For the purposes granted but shall no% exceed a distance of twelve <br /> and one half (12.5) feet on either side of the above-described center- <br /> line nor extend beyond the property of the CITY. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized <br />such docume~ta as may be necessary to complete the herein described transaction." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Gray, Holley,Oast <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br />to sign <br /> <br /> 79-101 - "Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to lease certain <br />city-owned property at Pinners Point to the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission. <br /> <br /> The City,gas acquired through land purchase, tax suits, etc. approximately &.65 acres <br />between Hill and-Industrial Avenue in Pinners Point adjoining Portsmouth Marine Terminals. <br />This resolution will authorize the City Manager to enter into a lease agreement with the <br />Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission for this purpose; who, in turn, will have the <br />authority to sub-lease to port related activities. The City Manager recommends adoption." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following resolution was adopted, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO LEASE CERTAIN CITY-OWNED <br />PROPERTY TO THE PORTSMOUTH PORT AND INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION (PINNERS POINT). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns certain hereinafter described property which is <br />located within the area being developed for the port facilities of the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section <br />may lease property to <br />without advertisement <br /> <br />2.O9(c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth provides that the City <br />the Commonwealth of Virginia, or any political subdivision thereof, <br />and without receiving bids; and <br /> <br /> WHER~EAS,--t~he Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission is a politiaal subdivision of the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br />the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to <br />Commission, the f~lto~ing described property, to-wit: <br /> <br />the City of Portsmoutk, Virginia, that <br />lease to the Portsmouth Port and Industri~ <br /> <br /> Ail those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land, with the <br />~-imp~sv'ements thereon, situate, lying and being in the City of <br /> Portsmouth, Virginia, known, numbered and designated as Lots 288, <br /> 289, 290, 291, 292, 293, 294, 295, 296, 297, 298, 299, 300, 301, <br /> 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, 311, 314, and 315 <br /> on the Plat of Pinners Point Waterfront Company recorded in the <br /> Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, <br /> Virginia, in Map Book a, Page 32. <br /> <br /> All those certain lots, pieces or parcels of land, situate, <br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, known, numbered <br />and designated as Lots 34, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 109, 110, 111, <br />112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, <br />160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 16S, 166, 167, 168, 169 and 216 as shown on <br />the Plat of Pinners Point Land Company, recorded in the Clerk's Office <br />of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, Virginia in Map Book <br />R, Page 7. ' <br /> <br /> Together with those portions of Industrial Avenue and Southern <br />Avenue which were closed by Ordinanse adopted by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth on June 26, 1962, and March 14, 1978. <br /> <br /> <br />
