<br /> The property at issue is a triangular parcel which was originally conveyed to the City
<br />of Portsmouth by deed dated December 29, 1950 from the Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing
<br />Authority as part of a 15.75 acres, more or less, on the south side of Meander Road fformerty
<br />Western Branch Road). Subsequent to skid conveyance, Broad Street was extended southward from
<br />i~s$ intersection with Meander Road to form an intersection with Portland Street, and by the
<br />creation of this intersection, there remained th~ triangular parcel of land at the northwest
<br />corner adjacent to property previously conveyed to Star'Band Realty Corporation as shown on
<br />the attached plat. It should be notedJthat a corner of the present building is already on thik
<br />property which is still owned by the City.

<br /> BEGINNING at the northwest intersection of Broad Street and Portland
<br />Street; thence west along the northern boundary of Portland Street 40'

<br />Broad Street; thence south along the western boundary of Broad Street
<br />98.76' to the Point of Beginning.

<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there shall also be reserved in the description Of said pro-
<br />perty an easement 15' in width for the operation and maintenance of an 8" sanitary sewer line
<br />across said property from the centerline of Portland Street to the centerline of Broad Street.

<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute
<br />such documents as may be necessary to complete this transaction."

<br /> The..foZlo~ing reports from the City Manager were presented:
<br />
<br /> 80-5 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $175,000 from the
<br />Capital Improvements Fund for the completion of improvements to the Kilby Pump Station in
<br />Suffolk and engineering and design cost for improvements to the Godwin Street Pump Station in
<br />Portsmouth.
<br />
<br /> The Capital Improvement Program for i979/80 included $125,000 for the completion of the
<br />Kilby Pump Station improvements, and $50,000 for preliminary engineering and design for Godwin
<br />Street. The electric power ~n both systems do not meet present standards. Also, additional
<br />raw and finished water pumping capacity ms needed in the event of failure of other equipment
<br />during peak demands. The completion of these two programs would transfer systems control of
<br />the'entire system to the Kilby system and put Godwin Street under supervisory control from the
<br />
