October 12, 1999 <br /> <br />(d) S-99-02 <br /> <br />PORT CENTRE - The City of Portsmouth requests closure of a <br />portion of First Street bounded on the north by the southern right- <br />of-way of the Crawford Street Connector (Connector "S"), and <br />bounded on the south by the westerly extension of the boundary <br />line of the property of the City of Portsmouth (Old Coast Guard <br />Base) and property line of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, both of <br />which bound First Street on the east. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />ordinances, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF FIRST STREET <br />BOUNDED BY THE SOUTHERN LINE OF WYTHE STREET, IF EXTENDED <br />EASTWARDLY, AND THE SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF THE CRAWFORD <br />CONNECTOR (CONNECTOR "S")." <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF FIRST STREET <br />BOUNDED BY THE SOUTHERN LINE OF WYTHE STREET, IF EXTENDED <br />EASTWARDLY, AND THE BOUNDARY LINE OF PROPERTY OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH(OLD COAST GUARD BASE) AND THE NORFOLK NAVAL <br />SHIPYARD, IF EXTENDED WESTWARDLY." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(e) S-99-03 <br /> <br />PORT CENTRE - The City of Portsmouth requests to close all of <br />Bart Street bounded on the west by the Crawford Street Connector <br />(Connector "S") to its point of termination in the Southern Branch of <br />the Elizabeth River and closure of all of Crawford Street bounded <br />on the north by the Southern right-of-way line of Crawford Street. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF BART STREET <br />BOUNDED BY THE CRAWFORD CONNECTOR (CONNECTOR "S") ON THE WEST <br />TO ITS POINT OF TERMINATION IN THE SOUTHERN BRANCH OF THE <br />ELIZABETH RIVER, AND CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF CRAWFORD <br />STREET BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE RIGHT OF WAY OF THE <br />CRAWFORD CONNECTOR (CONNECTOR "S") AND ON THE SOUTH BY THE <br />CHANNEL OF GANDER CREEK." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(f) Z-99-08 <br /> <br />PORT CENTRE - The City of Portsmouth requests a rezoning of <br />property in the Port Centre area from Commerce Park (CP) and <br />Heavy Industrial (M-2) to Heavy Industrial Conditional (M-2-K). <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that Z-99-08 be approved on first reading, <br />and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />(g) Z-99-06 <br /> <br />PORT CENTRE - The City of Portsmouth requests a rezoning of <br />property in the Port Centre area from Downtown Public (D-l-P), <br />Heavy Industrial (M-2) and Commerce Park (CP) to Industrial (M- <br />1). <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that Z-99-06 be approved on first reading, <br />and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />(h) Z-99-07 <br /> <br />PORT CENTRE - The City of Portsmouth requests to rezone <br />property in the Port Centre area from Downtown Mixed (D-l-M), <br />Downtown Public (D-l-P), and Heavy Industrial (M-2) to Waterfront <br />(W-l). <br /> <br /> <br />
