<br />be deferred for an additional two weeks to enable the Housing Authority staff and City staff,
<br />and Council, if so desi.re, to have additional meeting with the Hattonsville Civic League prio~
<br />to bringing back a formal recommendation.

<br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Whitlow, that the matter be deferred until next
<br />regulaz meeting, July 14, 1981, and was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br /> Jim Dunn, 4513 Templar Drive, representing Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, requested tha~
<br />the Hattonsvllle Project be approved as proposed.

<br /> Durvin Cromwell, 2820 Hyman Street, representing Hat~tonsville Civic League, requested
<br />that consideration be given to leave the section between Laigh Road and Ponderosa Street as
<br />residential.
<br />
<br /> Joseph E. Knight, 4820 Portsmouth Boulevard, spoke against Hattonsvitle being rezoned
<br />as industrial and residents having to be relocated.
<br />
<br /> Cetha E. Boone, Sr., 2727 Ballard Avenue, representing Hattonsvil]e Civic League,
<br />stated that the Hattonsville Project involves human beings, and that consideration be given
<br />as to relocation of the citizens in the area.
<br />
<br /> Sylvester Brown, 1909 Laigh Road, President, Hattonsville Civic League, spoke of
<br />establ:~km~.~ not operating mn the Hattonsville area, and stated that the Housing Authority
<br />is not ~i's~e~ngto the residents in the area and requested that the citizens be able to remain
<br />in the area.

<br /> John H. Hardy, 4644 River Shore Road, representing J. H, Hardy, Inc., asked that con-
<br />sideration be given on the parking lot that he is operating in Southside as he would like
<br />remain in the area.

<br /> Nathalia Johnson, 310 Nelson Street, spoke for the concerms of the residents who still
<br />remain in Southside - parking is a problem and health conditions deterimental.

<br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Whitlow, the following resolution was adopted

<br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted May 9, 1978, approved a Redevelopment Plan
<br />for the Southside IV Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia; and

<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval,
<br />of an amended Redevelopment Plan for the project area, dated June, 1981 which plan
<br />of 12 pages and 2 exhibits; and '
