<br />Five Thousand Dollars ($12S,OO0. per year for a period of forty (40) years, said sum to
<br />be derived from revenues from operation of said facility and from revenues of other parking
<br />facilities under the operation and control of the Portsmouth Parking Authority; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Section 2.09 (c) of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, provides
<br />that the City may convey real property to the Commonwealth of ¥irginia or a political
<br />subdivision thereof without advertisement and receipt of bi~s; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Parking Authority is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth
<br />of Firginia.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of th~ City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the following described
<br />City owned property to the Portsmouth Parking Authority, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, with the improvements thereon, situate,
<br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, designated as Parcel A on that
<br />certain plat entitled "Plat Showing Property To Be Conveyed To City Of Portsmouth",
<br />dated May 13, 1982, prepared by the Engineering and Technical Services Department
<br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, attached hereto and recorded herewith, reference
<br />to which plat is made for a more particular description of said property.

<br />and other documents as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of

<br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Whitlow, the following resolution was adopted,
<br />and by the following vote:

<br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR THE CLOSING OF A PORTION OF AN ALLEY
<br />ON THE EAST SIDE OF MARINER AVENUE.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has made application to vacate, close and discontinue
<br />the hereinafter-described portion of a certain public alley, and it appearing that notice
<br />of application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly posted on May 7, 1982,
<br />on the bulletin board of the City Hall Building of the City of Portsmouth, the General Distri¢
<br />Court, Civil Division, of the City of Portsmouth, and the Circuit Court of the City of Ports-
<br />mouth.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that A. N. Kendrisk, C. L. Knight, J. R. Wilkerson, Howard L. Davis, and George N. Powers,
<br />Sr. be appointed viewers, and that C. E. Ellis and Clinton. J. Fortune be appointed alternate
<br />viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view
<br />the hereinafter-described portion of such street and to report to this Council in writing
<br />whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating and
<br />closing the following:

<br /> A twenty (20) foot portion or strip of an alley which is located on the eastern
<br />side of Mariner Avenue, formerly Fourth Avenue, beginning at a point on the east-
<br />ern side of Mariner Avenue said point being the point of intersection of the
<br />southern boundary of Lot 309 as shown on the plat of West Norfolk and thence east
<br />one hundred (100) feet along the southern boundary of said lot 309 to the true
<br />point of beginning; thence east and parallel with Broadway Street one hundred
<br />fifty (150) feet to a point; thence north and parallel with Mariner Avenue twenty
<br />(20) feet to a point; thence west and parallel with Broadway Street one hundred
<br />fifty (150) feet to a point; thence south and parallel with Mariner Avenue twenty
<br />(20) feet to the point of beginning.
