<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its
<br /> inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br /> 1. That Amendment No. 2 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Southside II1 Redevelopmc
<br /> Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found:
<br /> (a) That the objectives of the Southside tli Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth,
<br /> Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment.
<br /> ~{~) That Amendment No. 2 for the proiect area conforms to the Comprehensive Pla
<br /> for the City'of Portsmouth as a whole and continues to meet the reqnirements as a Redeve-
<br /> lopment Project under Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.
<br /> 2. That Amendment No. 2 to the Southside III Redevelopment Plan for the Southside
<br /> Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and th
<br /> City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this

<br />Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Re~gw~ Project.
<br /> This resolution approves Amendment No. 13 to the Crawford Redevelopment Plan by
<br /> adding certain property to the project area. Having been carefully reviewed, it is believ
<br /> that the objectives of the Crawford Redevelopment Plan can be better achieved by adoption
<br /> of this amendment. The City Manager recommends adoption."

<br /> On mction of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes the following resolution was
<br /> adopted, and by tie following vote:

<br /> WHEREAS, this Council by
<br />for the Crawford Urban Renewal

<br />N%NO..I$ TO THE CRAWFORD REDEVELOPMENT PLAN.FOR THE CRAWFOR

<br />resolution adopted August 1, 1967, approved a Redevelopment
<br />Project, Portsmouth, Virginia; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval, a copy
<br />an amegded Redevelopment Plan for the project area dated June, 1982, which plan consists o~
<br />pages'--~nd~ e×h~it~; ~d'~
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 13 proposes to add certain property to the project area; and
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 13 has been carefully reviewed and said Redevelopment Plan con
<br />to the Comprehensive Plan for the City of Portsmouth adopted June, 1980, and which serves
<br />general guide for development of the City of Portsmouth as a whole; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amend~
<br />is in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provislo
<br />of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibit
<br />discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its
<br /> inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved.

<br /> general plan for the City of Portsmouth as a whole and continues to meet the requirements
<br /> Redevelopment Project set forth under Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, as amended.

<br /> 2. That Amendment No. 13 to the Crawford Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urb'an
<br /> Renewal Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and the City
<br /> Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meetingl
