PRHA of the Mount Hermon of said amendment; City Manager recommen~ seconded by Mr. Gray the following resolution was adopted, AND REDEVELOPMEN' WHEREAS, Redevelopment Virginia; and this Council by resolution adopted May 16, 1972, approved a Conservation and Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, there has been presented to this body, for consideration and approval, a copy o~ the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the project area dated WHEREAS, an amended Land Use Map of June, 1982; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 5 proposes to change a parcel of land from Semi-Public to Commerc: on the Land Use Map. WHEREAS, said Amendment No. 5 has been carefully reviewed and said Redevelopment Plan conforms to the Comprehensive Plan for the City as a general guide for development of the Cit' as a whole; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amend is in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national imposed by the provisions including those prchibiting origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhab~ that the said Amendment be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 5 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation an¢ Redevelop~ment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: .~(~) That the objectives of thq Mount, Hermon Conserv%tio~ 2nd~edevelqpmen~ Pr.oj.ect, (b) That Amendment No. 5 to the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Plan conforms to the general plan for the City of Portsmouth as a whole and continues to meet the requirements as a Conservation and Redevelopment Project set forth under Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 2. That Amendment No. 5 to the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for t~ Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project, having bee~ duly reviewed and considered is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment wit the minutes of this meeting.
