PRHA <br />of the Mount Hermon <br />of said amendment; <br />City Manager recommen~ <br /> <br />seconded by Mr. Gray the following resolution was adopted, <br /> <br />AND REDEVELOPMEN' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />Redevelopment <br />Virginia; and <br /> <br />this Council by resolution adopted May 16, 1972, approved a Conservation and <br />Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, <br /> <br />there has been presented to this body, for consideration and approval, a copy o~ <br /> the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the project area dated <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />an amended Land Use Map of <br />June, 1982; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 5 proposes to change a parcel of land from Semi-Public to Commerc: <br />on the Land Use Map. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Amendment No. 5 has been carefully reviewed and said Redevelopment Plan <br />conforms to the Comprehensive Plan for the City as a general guide for development of the Cit' <br />as a whole; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amend <br />is in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are <br />of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, <br />discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national <br /> <br />imposed by the provisions <br />including those prchibiting <br />origin; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council it is in the interest of the City and its inhab~ <br />that the said Amendment be approved. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Amendment No. 5 to the Redevelopment Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation an¢ <br />Redevelop~ment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: <br /> <br /> .~(~) That the objectives of thq Mount, Hermon Conserv%tio~ 2nd~edevelqpmen~ Pr.oj.ect, <br /> <br /> (b) That Amendment No. 5 to the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Plan <br />conforms to the general plan for the City of Portsmouth as a whole and continues to meet the <br />requirements as a Conservation and Redevelopment Project set forth under Title 36 of the Code <br />of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> 2. That Amendment No. 5 to the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for t~ <br />Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project, having bee~ duly reviewed and considered <br />is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment wit <br />the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Beamer, Gray, Oast, Webb, Whitlow <br /> <br /> Nays: None' <br /> <br /> 82-229 "Consideration of a resolution approving Amendment No. 4 ~o the Bffingham <br />Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Effingham Project. <br /> <br /> This resolution approves Amendment No. a to the Effingham Con'servation and Redevelopment <br />Plan. Having been carefully reviewed, it is believed that the objectives of the Effingham <br />Project can be better achieved by adoption of this amendment.
