Indus~lal Development Authority has made application to close a portion of Commerce <br />mrree~ ~erween ~nautauqua_and Virginia Avenues as well as~the paper alleys which extend to <br />the north and south thero~. These closures will consulid~te the parcel for ease <br />of development and the Planning Commission has recommed a~proval. This resolution will appoint <br />viewers in accordance with State law. (S-82-9) <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Beamer, Gray, Holley, Webb, Whitlow, Johansen <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 82-323 "Consideration of a motion authorizing a partial refund of personal property taxes. <br /> <br /> This motion will authorize a refund of $32, without interest, to Mr. William T. Clark, <br />~8 Nicholson Street. Mr. Clark has a 19~8 camping trailer a~d was assessed for a 1980 camping <br />trailer; therefore, a refund of $32 is due the taxpayer. Th~ City Manager recommends adoption." <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded ~y Mrs. Webb to authorize a partial refund without interest <br />in the amount of $32. to Mr. William . Clark, was adopted b~ unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 82-323(a) - "Consideration of a resolution expressing Council's support for private <br />~wnership of the new postal facility. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Gray the following resolution was adopted and <br />~y the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTI3N EXPRESSING COUNCIL'S SUPPORT FOR PRIVATE OWNERSHIP OF THE NEW POSTAL <br />FACILITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the United States Postal Service purchased land in the City of Portsmouth at <br />the intersection of Broad Street and Meander Road, north of London Boulevard, for the construction <br />of a postal facility; and <br /> <br /> <br />
