<br /> This appropriation will provide the funds necessary to complete the exterior renovations
<br />to the 1846 Courthouse. The 1846 Courthouse is designated as a Virginia Historical Landmark:
<br />and, most of the funds expended to date for renovation have been provided through various
<br />grants. The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading."

<br />discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of Beechdale Road, and it appearing that notice
<br />of application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly advertised according to law.

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br />A. N. Kendrick, Simon P. Arrington, Richard D. Ottavio, ~ames V. McGhee, and Raymond Tweed be
<br />appointed viewers, and that C. E. Ellis and C. L. Knight be appointed alternate viewers in the
<br />event one of the preceding viewers fails to participate,~asaid viewers to view the hereinafter-
<br />described portion of such street, and to report to th4s Council in writing whethercin their
<br />opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the f~llowing:

<br /> This resolution authorizes the School Board to apply for, receive and expend funds from
<br />Federal, State and other governmental agencies not presently budgeted in the 1982-83 School
<br />Budget. This resolution also directs the Superintendent of Schools to advise the City Manager
<br />of the receipt and expenditure of such funds. The City Manager recommends adoption."
