68 <br /> <br />July 23, 1985 <br /> <br />in <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the use for which the use permmt is sought: <br /> <br /> (a) Will not adversely affect the health and safety of persons residing <br />the neighborhood of the proposed use; <br /> <br /> or working <br /> <br /> (b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or injurious to the property er im- <br />provements in the neighborhood; and <br /> (c] Will be in accord with the purposes of the Zoning Chapter of the City Code. <br /> 2. The Cathedral of Praise Church is hereby granted a use permit pursuant to Section <br />40-75 (b) of the City Code to operate a child care center at 715 Summers Place (Tax Map 509, <br />Parcel 40) which contains 2.23 acres (UP-85-17). <br /> <br />3. A. Barham, Jr., have made application pursuant to <br />Section 40-55 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, for the granting and <br />approval of a group housing project consisting of forty eight (48) rental apartment units <br />for the elderly ~n a tw¢-story structure on a 1.75 acre parcel behind the First Friends Churct <br />on Portsmouth Boulevard and 150 feet west of Martin Avenue, such site being more particularly <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />GHP-85-23 <br /> <br /> Beginning on the north right-of-way line of Scony Street 149.65' west <br />from its intersection with the west right-of-way of Martin Avenue; thence <br />north 353.99'; thence west 40'; thence south 35'; thence west 138.54'; thence <br />south 410'; thence east 178.2'; thence north 50' to the north right-of-way of <br />Sacony Street, the point of origin. <br /> <br /> <br />
