<br />AND APPROPRIATING $140,813,798 IN THE FY 2027 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND,
<br />SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF THE MEANS OF FINANCING DESIGNATED HEREIN.”

<br />26 - 122 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting State Shared Expense revenue in
<br />the amount of $213,809 from the Virginia Compensation Board and appropriating
<br />$194,127 of said funds to the Judicial Category and $19,682 of said funds to the
<br />General Government Category of the FY 2026 General Fund Budget for the
<br />payment of one-time constitutional officer staff bonuses.

<br />Background:

<br /> A 2.0% salary bonus was approved by the 2026 Session of the General Assembly
<br />for employees of designated constitutional officers.
<br />
<br /> The money will be distributed by the Compensation Board as part of the June 2026
<br />reimbursement, captured in the FY 2026 General Fund budget as State Shared
<br />Expenses.
<br />
<br /> The total number of employees estimated to receive the supplement is 186, which
<br />equates to $213,809.

<br />Discussion:

<br /> The bonus is dated June 1, 2026, but correspondence from the State
<br />Compensation Board indicates that the bonus should be given any time in June 2026.

<br /> The Judicial section of the FY 2026 General Fund Budget will increase by
<br />$194,127.
