Donna Biggs, 3104 Garland Drive, voiced her concern with the lack of opportunities <br /> for citizens to voice their opinions about the proposed changes in the City. <br /> <br />2. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 2713 Sterling Point Drive, voiced his concern with lack of <br /> funding to implement the City’s vision. <br /> <br /> Councilwoman Thomas asked for and received a majority consensus of City Council <br /> <br />to remove the language “complete reclassification of the City Auditor position to the <br />City Manager’s Office” and replace it with “City Auditor position launch recruitment <br />for that position” under pillar two short term goals of the strategic pillars. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Hugel, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following <br />resolution with change in language to remove “complete reclassification of the City <br />Auditor position to the City Manager’s Office” and replace it with “City Auditor position <br />launch recruitment for that position” under pillar two short term goals of the strategic <br />pillars, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH 2026-2030 STRATEGIC <br />PILLARS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , City Council and City Management have worked to develop a <br />strategic direction for the City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Portsmouth 2026-2030 Strategic Pillars consist of five main <br />strategies: <br /> <br /> <br /> “Get Stuff Done” (major initiatives); <br /> <br /> Financial & Operational Excellence; <br /> <br /> Economic Growth & Citywide Revitalization; <br /> <br /> Safe, Connected, and Thriving Community; and <br /> <br /> Education, Workforce & Partnerships for the Future; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Strategic Pillars include, for each Pillar: <br /> <br /> <br /> The Tone with the Pillar will be pursued; <br /> <br /> Specific Short Term, Medium-Term, and Long-Term goals to be achieved as <br />part of the Pillar; and <br /> <br /> Overall Outcomes to be achieved; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City Council desires to formally adopt the Strategic Pillars to <br />ensure commitment and follow-through; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that the City of Portsmouth 2026-2030 Strategic Pillars are hereby adopted in <br /> <br />the form attached as Exhibit A.” <br /> <br /> <br />Ayes: Bryant, Dodson, Hugel, Moody, Tillage, Thomas, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
