June 10, 2025 <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIPS <br />PROGRAM – AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,727 <br />FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE FY 2026 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND <br />BUDGET FOR SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND OTHER ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES. <br />” <br /> <br />Ayes: Bryant, Dodson, Hugel, Moody, Thomas, Tillage, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />25 - 161 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting funds in the amount of $20,000 from <br />the Beazley Foundation, Inc. and appropriating said amount in the FY 2025 Grants <br />Fund for use by the Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services for the <br />Pediatric Pre-Hospital Care Program. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The Pediatric Pre-Hospital Care Program will enable the Department of Fire, <br />Rescue and Emergency Services (PFRES) to purchase EMS equipment and software <br />necessary to provide critical services in the field to pediatric patients suffering from <br />traumatic injuries or medical emergencies. <br /> <br /> Without these critical materials and software, these patients would have delays in <br />definitive care awaiting the necessary resources in both the pre-hospital and hospital <br />environments, which could result in unnecessary increases in patient morbidity and <br />mortality. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The Beazley Foundation, Inc, Program for Pediatric EMS Equipment and <br />Pharmaceutical Software <br />will support the City’s commitment to the provision of quality pre-hospital pediatric care to <br />our community. <br /> <br /> Per the guidelines established for this grant, PFRES will submit reports to the <br />Beazley Foundation, Inc., during and upon the conclusion of the grant period, which is for <br />one year. <br /> <br />Financial impact: <br /> <br /> This program does not require a local cash match or any In-Kind services. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will assign the budget code. <br /> <br /> PFRES will begin the process of purchasing the said equipment and software. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Bryant, and seconded by Mr. Hugel, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 FROM THE <br />BEAZLEY FOUNDATION, INC.
