<br /> The Corporation purchased a Retail Sales license on May 31, 1985. They closed their
<br />business October 15, 1985, therefore, we are requesting a refund of $382.46 (without interest)
<br />on the unused portion of the license. Please mail refund check to Henry McNabb, 5209 Greenbroo
<br />Drive, Portsmouth, VA 23703.

<br /> Dr. Stokes retired from the active practice of Medicine at 720 Rodman Avenue on September
<br />30, 1985. He purchased a Professional Services Eicense on May 22, 1985, therefore we are
<br />requesting a refund of $618.52 ~without interest) on the unused portion of his license.

<br />I recommend that Council adopt this motion, and refund be granted. '

<br /> Vice Mayor Webb asked City Manager for a list of the businesses that close and the reason
<br />for the closures.

<br />(plus interest) to Willie E. King for overassessment of Real Estate Taxes.
<br />
<br /> "The Cit~ Assessor is requesting a refund of Real Estate taxes to Willie E. King, 3100
<br />Laurel Lane, Map 812, parcel 0030.
<br />
<br /> An error occurred in the measurements appearing on the plat map as compared with the deed
<br />as recorded in the Circuit Court Clerk's office. As the recorded deed takes precedence over
<br />the plat, Mr. King was overassessed on his re~l estate taxes for 1982-83, 1983-1984, and 1984-
<br />1985 and is due a refund of $20.48 plus interest.

<br />I recommend that the City Council, adopt this motion, and a refund be granted."
