Janury 14, 1986 <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Whitlow and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading; award of contract to Rogers Concrete Contractors, being the low bidder, and <br />was adopted by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $44,000 FROM THE PUBLIC UTILITIES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT <br />FUND FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LAKE KILBY RESERVOIR DAM." <br /> <br />Councilman Gray left the Council meeting at 11:10 p.m. <br />Councilman Beamer was excused from the Council meeting approximately 5 minutes. <br /> <br /> 8~-5 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of an ordinance <br />$40,000 for correction of the Civic Center Plaza leakage and award of contract <br />de-sign of the renovations. <br /> <br />to appropriate <br />for final <br /> <br /> "The 1985-90 Capital Improvement Program indicates $350,000 in FY 85-86 for correction <br />of the Civic Center plaza leakage. A test section making up approximatel) one tenth of the <br />total plaza was satisfactorily replaced in the Spring of 1985. A similar treatment is neces- <br />sary to eliminate other leaks in the remainder of the plaza. <br /> <br /> In order to complete the final renovation ~]i~ns-for a Spr~ng construction, an appropriatio~ <br />of $40,000 is requested to cover the consultant fees for the final design plans. It is also <br />recommended that the City enter into a contract with the consultant, Mr. Jerome Lamprecht, for <br />completion of the plans and for the monitoring of construction. <br /> <br /> The Director of Planning, Engineering and Inspections recommends award of the contract <br />and appropriation of $40,000 from the Capital improvement Program. I, therefore, recommend <br />City Council's approval." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Corprew, the <br />on first reading; award of the contract to Jerome Lamprecht, <br />vote (5-0)~ <br /> <br />following ordinance was approved <br />and was adopted by unanimous <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $40,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />ENGINEERING DESIGN FOR CORRECTION OF THE CIVIC CENTER PLAZA LEAKAGE." <br /> <br /> 86-6 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of an ordinance to appropriate <br />$54,000 for placement of a non-skid surface on a portion of the Civic Center garage floor <br />and award of contract. <br /> <br /> "The FY 1985-86 Capital Improvement Program indentified $72,000 in prior authorizations <br />for repair of the Civic Center garage floor with installation of a non-skid coating. Bids <br />were received on December 10, 198~ for the rehabilitation of the police side of the garage <br />where the worst conditions exist. The entire basement was not included in the bid because <br />the repairs to the judicial side would have added another $75,000-$100,000 to the project. <br />This work will have to be contracted at a later date through the Capital Improvement Program <br />process. <br /> <br /> The Director of Planning, Engineering and Inspections recommends that the project be <br />awarded to R. A. Grady Concrete Restoration Company and that the sum of $54,000 be appropriate <br />for the rehabilitation.
