Several options were evaluated for its replacement, including a solid roof struc-
ture, lease of a tent, or direct purchase of a replacement. The most economical approach,
considering the relatively limited time we expect to maintain the marketplace is the direct
purchase of a tent. On January 13, 1986, bids were received for the ma~n tent and two 20 x 40
tents for the front patios as follows:

CONTRACTOR TENTS

PERCENTAGE

(1) Bos Brothers Tent Removal (Norfolk) $29,675 85~
(2) Hogshire Industries (N~rfolk) 38,400 110%

City Estimate ~35,000 100~

The total cost (including the cost of tent lighting to be installed by General Services
and miscellaneous costs associated with installation' is $34,675. Good references on previous
work performed by the low bidder has been received. In order to have the tent in place by
March 1S, 1986, it is imperative that appropriation of funds and award of a contract be given
on one Council reading.

The Director
and appropriation
reading."

of Planning,
of $54,675.

Engineering and Inspections
I, therefore, recommend City

recommenJs award to the low bidder
Council's approval on first
