May 23, 2023 Financial Impact:  The $225,000 Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant requires a local match of $75,000. Funding for the match has previously been appropriated in the stormwater fund budget. Recommended Action:  Adoption of the ordinance. Next Steps Following Council Action:  The Finance Department will complete the necessary budget transfers. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Lucas-Burke, to adopt the following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: “ORDINANCE: (1) ACCEPTING FLOOD MITIGATION ASSISTANCE GRANT FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $225,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND; AND (2) TRANSFERRING $75,000 FROM THE FY 2023 STORMWATER FUND BUDGET TO THE DRAINAGE AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS CATEGORY OF THE FY 2023 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND BUDGET AND THEN TO THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND BUDGET TO SERVE AS THE REQUIRED LOCAL MATCH. ” Ayes: Hugel, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Tillage, Whitaker, Glover Nays: None 23 - 181 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting Developmental Disability Residential Support funds in the amount of $9,240 from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and appropriating said amount in the FY 2023 Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund Budget to provide support for individuals diagnosed with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Background:  Developmental Disability Residential Support funds are allocated to assist with maintaining support and services for individuals diagnosed with an intellectual and/or developmental disability. Discussion:  The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services awarded $9,240 of one-time funding for residential supports. These funds will be utilized as a customized rate intended to facilitate support for individuals diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability. Financial Impact:  No local match is required as a condition of the funding. Recommended Action:  Adoption of the ordinance.
