KNOWN AS "CAMBRIDGE COURT" AND DESIGNATED AS GHP-84-15. <br /> <br /> B~EREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia adopted at a meeting held <br />November 20, 1984, a resolution granting approval for a group housing project pursuant to <br />940-55 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, said project being known as <br />"Cambridge Court,' and designated as GHP-84-15 and consisting of ninety-two (92) condominium <br />units on 6.4 acres located in the northwest corner of Town Point Road and Twin Pines Road <br />intersection; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Robert W. DeMille, President of DeMille Homes, has made application pursuant <br />to 940-55 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, fora revision to the <br />recreation plan for said group housing project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed such application for revision and has <br />made a recommendation thereon; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the developer is aware that building permits or any other required permit will <br />be issued only upon compliance with the ordinances, laws or regulations applicable thereto. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that <br />the certain group housing project consisting of ninety-two (92) unit condominium development <br />known as "Cambridge Court" approved by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia by <br />adoption of a resolution on November 20, 1984 may be revised to delete the swimming pool and <br />other related amenities and replace it with a park and redreation area as shown on a revised <br />landscape plan submitted with correspondence from Robert W. Dean Hinson, <br /> Commanding Officer, for an adult day care center for 15 persons <br /> at 2306 Airline Boulevard, approved on first reading at the Public <br /> Hearing of January 28, 1986, was taken up and read. <br /> <br /> Lt. H. Dean Hinson, 3903 Kinsman Avenue, representing the Salvation Army, requested that <br />the use permit be made effective immediately and that the privacy fence requirement be deleted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to amend the resolution to take effect <br />immediately and requirement for a privacy fence be removed. <br /> <br /> Substitute motion of Mr. Beamer and seconded by Mr. Whitlow, to amend the resolution <br />granting the use permit immediately, and was adopted by 6-1 (Nay-Gray) vote. <br /> <br /> Substitute motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to delete the privacy fence <br />requirement, was defeated by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Gray, Lucas, Webb <br />Nays: Beamer, Corprew, Whitlow, Holley <br /> <br />On motion, as amended, the following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
