April 12, 2022 <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The following table shows the impact of the proposed appropriation to the FY 2022 <br />PPS Food Services Fund: <br />Current Additional Total Revised <br />FY 2022 Appropriation FY 2022 <br />Fund Appropriation Appropriation <br />Food Services Fund $10,696,369 $450,000 $11,146,369 <br /> <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> No City funds are part of this appropriation. <br /> <br /> The appropriation to the FY 2022 PPS Food Services Fund will increase by <br /> <br />$450,000. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br /> <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> The Finance Departments for the City and Schools will complete the necessary <br /> <br />budget adjustments. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Barnes, and seconded by Mr. Battle, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE VALUE OF USDA DONATED COMMODITIES <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $450,000 TO THE FY 2022 PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br />FOOD SERVICES FUND BUDGET.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Battle, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Whitaker, Woodard, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />22 - 115 - Adoption of a resolution authorizing the conveyance of approximately <br />2,081 square feet of property having an address of 1227 Holland Road in Suffolk <br />and the grant of an adjacent temporary construction easement encompassing <br />approximately 1,750 square feet to the City of Suffolk in furtherance of a culvert <br />rehabilitation project. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The City of Suffolk is performing a culvert rehabilitation project along Turlington <br />Road and has requested the conveyance of 2,081 square feet of property having an <br />address of 1227 Holland Road, along with an adjacent temporary construction easement <br />encompassing approximately 1,750 square feet. <br /> <br /> 1227 Holland Road is located in Suffolk and is owned by Portsmouth for use in <br />connection with its lakes and water facilities. <br /> <br /> The requested conveyances will not negatively impact Portsmouth’s water <br />operations. <br /> <br /> Improvements to drainage in the region benefit all Hampton Roads municipalities <br />by preventing flooding and protecting the Chesapeake Bay. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The City of Portsmouth and the City of Suffolk have traditionally worked <br />cooperatively in granting each other the land rights necessary for efficient operation of <br />their respective water and stormwater facilities. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> <br /> There is no financial impact. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the resolution. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
