December 14, 2021 <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Lucas-Burke, and seconded by Mr. Woodard, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF A UTILITY EASEMENT TO VIRGINIA <br />ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY HAVING AN APPROXIMATE WIDTH OF 5 FEET <br />ACROSS A PORTION OF 614 QUEEN STREET (TAX PARCEL 0018-0670). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />Virginia Electric and Power Company has requested that the City <br />grant an easement across a portion of City-owned property having an address of 614 <br />Queen Street (Tax Parcel 0018-0670); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the purpose of the easement is to address voltage issues in the 600 <br />Block of London Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> City staff has reviewed the location of the requested easement and <br />determined that it will not have a negative impact on City facilities; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that it hereby approves and authorizes the grant of the requested easement to <br />Virginia Electric and Power Company and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to <br />execute such documents or instruments as may be necessary or desirable in furtherance <br />of the intent of this Resolution.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Battle, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Whitaker, Woodard, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />21 - 382 - <br />Adoption of a resolution to implement the 2022 Calendar of City Council <br />Meetings. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The Portsmouth City Council normally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of <br />each month, except during the month of December where it only meets on the second <br />Tuesday. City Council has opted to add for Summer vacation the fourth Tuesday in <br />August. In addition, the 2022 General Election will be held on the second Tuesday of <br />November, therefore the meeting on the second Tuesday of November is cancelled also. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> This action would allow the City Council to give advance notification to the citizens, <br />media, and City departments of the amended 2022 meeting schedule. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> There is no financial impact. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the resolution. <br /> <br />Next Steps following City Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> The City Clerk will post the 2022 Meeting Calendar on the City’s webpage and <br />provide it to the general public. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Lucas-Burke, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“RESOLUTION TO IMPLEMENT THE 2022 CALENDAR OF CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETINGS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the City Council for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia desires to <br />set forth its intention to conduct its regular meetings at the times and dates set forth <br />herein for the calendar year 2022; and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
