September 14, 2021 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> A critical element of the System Transformation Excellence and Performance <br />(STEP-VA) program is to provide needed mental health and supportive services in the <br />most efficient and effective manner available. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services <br />awarded $454,663 in FY22 Restricted MH State General Funds for Children’s Outpatient <br />Services. This will allow Behavioral Healthcare Services to offer evidence-based and best <br />practices as part of our implementation of Children’s Outpatient Services. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> <br /> No local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will make the necessary budget adjustment. <br /> <br />1. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, asked for the income and expense report on <br />how funds are being spent. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Lucas-Burke, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING SYSTEM TRANSFORMATION EXCELLENCE AND <br />PERFORMANCE FUNDING FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL <br />HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $454,663 AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2022 BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE <br />SERVICE FUND FOR STEP-VA OUTPATIENT CHILDREN’S SERVICES.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Battle, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Whitaker, Woodard, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />21 - 273 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting Supplemental Emergency COVID-19 <br />grant funding through the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and <br />Developmental Services in the amount of $105,850 and appropriating said amount <br />in the FY 2022 Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund to help mitigate the spread of <br />COVID-19. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The Supplemental Emergency COVID-19 Grant Funding will assist our citizens in <br />receiving items to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services was <br /> <br />notified that PDBHS was awarded $105,850 to support COVID-19 relief activities. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> <br /> No local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will make the necessary budget adjustment. <br /> <br />1.
