June 10, 1986 <br /> <br />86-196 Rezoning applications: <br />(a) Zoning Petition Z 8e-6 <br /> <br />TRUXTUN NEIGHBORHOOD: Rezoning application of Jean M. <br />Davis, owner, by J. T. Davis and Associates, consultant, <br />to rezone a parcel of land at the northwest corner of <br />Frederick Boulevard and Elliott Avenue, from Industrial <br />M-1 to Residential R-60-K Conditional. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Gray, Z 86-6 <br />northwest corner of Frederick Boulevard and Elliott Avenue, <br />R-60-K Conditional, the following ordinance was approved on <br /> <br />to rezone a parcel of land at thc <br />from Industrial M-1 to Residential <br />first reading, and was adopted by <br /> <br />'ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 86-6" <br /> <br />(b) Zoning Petition Z 86-7 <br /> <br />WESTHAVEN NEIGHBORHOOD: Rezoning application of Jack B. <br />Wilkinson, owner, for property at 1700 Airline Boulevard, <br />from Residential R-75 to Office Residential 0R-75. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Whitlow, Z 86-7 to rezone property at 1700 <br />Airline Boulevard, from Residential R-75 to Office Residential 0R-75, the following ordinance <br />was approved on first reading, and was adopted by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 86r7" <br /> <br />- UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Councilman Gray requested that Item 86-168 be removed from the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the following items approved on first <br />reading at the Public Heariagmf May 27, 1986 and regular meeting of May 27, 1986, were adopted <br />on final reading, and b) the following vote: <br /> <br />86-165 - Use permit application, proposed amendment to the City Code and rezoning <br /> application: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT TO ROBERT J. EIGN PROPERTIES TO <br />OPERATE A WHOIESALE HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION PRODUCTS <br />COMPANY AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF ELMHURST LANE AND GARWOOD AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, RoB~t J. Eign.Properties, by Joseph D. Jones, Regional Manager, has made appli- <br />cation pursuant to 940-71 (b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, for the <br />granting of a use permit as hereinafter-described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director <br />in connection with said application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commissmon has recommended <br /> <br />have done a~l things required to be done <br /> <br />the granting of said use permit. <br /> <br />the City of Pcrtsmouth, virginia: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br /> <br /> 1. That the use for which the use permit is sought: <br /> <br /> (a) Will not adversely affect the health and safety of persons residing or working <br />in the nemghborhood of the proposed use; <br /> <br /> (b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or injnrious to the property or improv <br />me~ts in the nemghborhood; and <br /> <br />Will be in accordance with the purposes of the Zoning Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br /> 2. Robert J. Eign Properties ms hereby granted a use permit pursuant to ~40-71 (b) of th <br />City Code to operate a wholesale heating, amr conditioning and refrigeration products company <br />at the northwesr corner of Elmhurst Lane and Garwood Avenue in the Hattonsville neighborhood, <br />such property being more specifically described as Tax Map 571, Parcel 1.." <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER ~0 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY ~MENDING 940-17 AND ~40-288 THEREOF, AND ~DDING THERE- <br />TO ~4~-85 AND 940-142 PERTAINING TO THE COMMERCE PARK (CP) DISTRICT, AND <br />PURPOSE AND DIMENSION REQUIREMENTS THEREOF." <br /> <br />86-166 - <br /> <br />"ZONING ~¥iENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 86-12" <br /> <br />"AN CRDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $2E,780 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />FOR MISCELLANEOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO SCHOOL BUILDING." <br /> <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND <br /> <br />8~-167 <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $210,000 FROM THE PUBLIC UTILITY CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR INSTALLATION OF TWO DEEP WELLS (NOS. d AND 5) <br />ON THE CITY'S lfA%ER SHED IN SUFFOLK." <br /> <br /> <br />
