<br />AMOUNT OF $9,567,320 TO THE FY 2020 PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOLS
<br />GRANTS FUND BUDGET.”

<br />19 - 404 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting grant funding in the net amount of
<br />$128,995 and appropriating said funds in the FY 2020 Grants Fund budget for the
<br />Portsmouth Public Schools.

<br />Background:
<br />
<br /> City Council appropriated $18,632,873 to the FY 2020 Grants Fund for the
<br />Portsmouth Public Schools (PPS) on May 14, 2019.
<br />
<br /> On October 22, 2019, City Council amended the PPS Grants fund budget, bringing
<br />the new appropriation amount to $19,216,926.
<br />
<br />Discussion:
<br />
<br /> On October 17, 2019, the Portsmouth School Board adopted a Resolution
<br />requesting that City Council amend the FY2020 Portsmouth Public Schools Grants Fund
<br />budget due to an adjustment totaling $128,995, which represents an increase of $168,771
<br />and a decrease of $39,776 in federal and other revenue approved grants and state
<br />approved grants, respectively.
