October 14, 1986 <br /> <br />(c) GHP 86-6 <br /> <br />WESTHAVEN NEIGHBORHOOD: Group housing appli- <br />cation of Mohan L Chaudhuri, dy J. ~re~ory <br />Dodd, agent, for a ll-unit apartment! building <br />at the southwest corner of Rodman A~enue and <br />Columbia Street, approved on first ~eading at <br />Public Hearing of September 16, 1986~, was <br />taken up and read. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Gray, the fiolllowing <br />resolution was adopted on final reading, and by the following kote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR A GROUP HOUSING P~_OJECT <br />PURSUANT TO ~40-55 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, SAID PROJECT CONSISTING OF A 12 UNIT R~NT~L <br />APARTMENT PROJECT AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTER~EC~ION <br />OF RODMAN AVENUE AND COLUMBIA STREET AND DESIGNATED AS <br />GHP-86-6. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, David R. Chapptell has made application pursuant to <br /> 40-55 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, virginia, 1975, ~or <br />granting and approval of a group housing project consis~in~ of <br />twelve (12) rental apartment units on a .44 acre parcel at the sout~ <br /> corner of the intersection of Rodman AVenue and Columbia Street <br /> Tax Map 305, Parcel 72) and designated as GHP-86-6; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the application has been determined by the Planning <br />ommission to have met the requirements of ~40-55; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed such application <br />and site plans submitted therewith and has recommended conditional <br />approval of said application; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the developer has been informed that approval of a <br />~roup housing project pursuant to ~40-5S grants only an exemption <br />from certain requirements for the residences as stated in said <br />section and does no~ constitute a waiver of any other requiTemen- <br />embodied in the Subdivision Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance, Co~e <br />Uity of Portsmouth, Virginia or any other applicable local, state <br />ar federal law or regulation; and <br /> <br /> ~VHEREAS, the developer is aware that building permits sr any <br />pther required permit will be issued only upon compliance with the <br />~rdinances, laws or regulations applicable thereto. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> , Virginia, that the certain group housing project cons' <br />ing of twelve (12) rental apartment units in a two (2) storm <br />on a .44 acre parcel of proper~y a~ the southwest corner of <br /> of Rodman Avenue and Columbia Street (Tax Map 305, Parcel <br /> designated as GHP-86-6 is hereby granted approval subject to <br /> g terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> (1) A standard site plan shall be submitted to the Department <br />~f Engineering and Teahnical Services for review and approvRl.- <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />(d) GHP 86-7 <br /> <br />PARKVIEW NEIGHBORHOOD: Group housingiproject <br />application of Northside Associates Il; by <br />James J.
