70

October 14, 1986

86-371 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
motion to award contract for installation of curb and gutter,
storm drainage and paving for two remaining unimproved sections of
North Street and Cumberland Avenue.

~Bids were received on September 23, 1986 for the installation
curb and gutter, storm drainage and paving of the two remaining
unimproved sections of North Street and Cumberland Avenue. Each
street was bid as an alternate, to clarify funding sources, and a
bird alternate was bid for possible replacement of a section of th~
Street sewer main. At this meeting, I
emphasized to Council that similar presentations would be made to
the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Planning Commis
sion, D-1 Committee, Commissions of Architectural Review, as well
~s other interested civic groups and organizations.

As you can see from the attached reports for PRHA and Planning
staff, the respective agencies have publicly endorsed the concepts
proposed in the Development Plan and Guidelines. The Design
nes have been returned from the printer and are ready for
~ublic distribution. With Council's formal approval of the Design
lines and Development Plan, I will have the documents made
available to the public.

I, therefore, recommend that a mmtion be approved by City
Council for the endorsement of these two documents."
