<br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the followin
<br />resolution was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br />"A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR A CLOSING OF A PORTION
<br />OF KING STREET.
<br />
<br /> WHERE~S, the City of Portsmouth has made application t~ vacate,
<br />zlose and miscontinue the hereinafter-described portion of kin~
<br />5treet, and it appearing that Notice of Application and ReqBest for
<br />\ppointment of Viewers has been duly advertised as required by law.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />~ortsmouth, Virginia, that Richard D. Ottavio, Simon P. Arrlngton,
<br />lobert McCurdy, James F. McGehee and Raymond Tweed be appointed
<br />viewers and that Emmerson Smith and C. L. Knight be appointed alter-
<br />nate viewers in the event one of the preceding viewers fails to
<br />participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-described portion
<br />of such and to report to this Council in writing whether in their
<br />opinion any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in vacatin
<br />and closing the following:

<br />
<br /> Beginning at a point in tbs northwest corner of King
<br />Street and Water Street intersection said point being
<br />~04.~0~'~sou~h~from~the~southwe~ corner of High Street and
<br />Water Street intersection and also being the True Point
<br />of Beginning; thence south 0S© 27' 50" east 50.00' to a
<br />po~n~ a~ the north face of a concrete retaining wall;
<br />thence south 86© 26' 14" west 216.48' along the north
<br />face of the said wall to a poin~ in the right-of-way
<br />of Crawford Street; thence north 03© 25' 52" west S0.0O'
<br />to a point on the northern right-of-way of King Street;
<br />thence north 86© 26' 14" east 216.45' along the northern
<br />right-of-way of King Street to the True Point of Beginning."

<br /> "As you are aware, Veterans Day will be observed on Tu~
<br />4ovember 11, 1986. This date is the second Tuesday of the
<br />;onflicts with the regularly scheduled City Council meeting.
<br />
<br /> I, therefore, recommend adoption of the attached~resol~tion
<br />zhanging the regularly scheduled meeting on November 11, 1986, to
<br />~onday, November 10, 1986."

<br />MEETING DATE OF NOVEMBER 11, 1986 TO NOVEMBER 10, 1986.!
