This 1985-87 CIP Project involves. <br />installation of curb and gutter, storm drainage and paving of two <br />cemaining unimproved sections of Fayette and Jefferson Streets. Brickhouse, Inc. 98,484.50 89~ <br />(3) Vico Construction Corporation 110,132.50 101~ <br /> <br />City Estimate 109,000.00 100% <br /> <br />Total anticipated project costs are as follows: <br /> <br />Contract Price (Myatt Construction Company <br />Sidewalk Adjacent to School on Jefferson <br />Contract Administration and Inspection <br />Contingencies (10%) <br /> <br />97,621.50 <br />2,500.00 <br />10,000.00 <br />4,878.00 <br /> <br />TOTAL ANTICIPATED PROJECT COST <br /> <br />$11S,000.00 <br /> <br /> The low bidder, Myatt Construction Company, Inc., has worked <br />previous projects within the City. Therefore, the Director of PublJ <br />{orks recommends that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, <br />Myatt Construction Company, Inc. <br /> <br /> An appropriation was previously approved by Council to expedite <br />design of this project (January 1986) and $7,500.00 remains in this <br />account. Therefore, an additional appropriation in the amount of <br />$107,500.00 is required to complete this project. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, concur with the Director of Public Works and re- <br />commend that Council appropriate $107,500.00 from the Capital Im- <br />provement Program and the contract be awarded to the low bidder. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Corprew and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the follo% <br />ing ordinance was approved on first reading; award of contract to <br />5{yatt Construction Co., Inc., being low bidder, and was adopted by <br />unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $1 7,50 FRO THE CAPITAL <br />'I 4PKO EMENT ?UVD STREZT,ASD'DRAISAGE',IB PBOyE E TS <br />T0 FAYETT ,.AI D.3E E RSO STREETS E ST 'OF ELM A E U '." <br /> <br /> B6-430 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />an ordinance to appropriate $45,000 from the Capital Improvement <br />Fund for improvements to recreation centers. <br /> <br />of <br /> <br /> "Fhe 1985-86 Capital Improvement Program authorizes $4S,)00 for <br />improvements to recreation centers. These improvements will incre~s~ <br />the overall usefulness of the facilities as well as improve security! <br />prevent energy waste, and reJuce maintenance costs associated with <br />~andalism. The work will be accomplished with a combination of City <br />~nd contractual crews.. The work to be done is as follows: <br /> o C~a~o~k Community Center. Replace five existing doors <br /> w~th bronze aluminum doors, install a new door and <br /> repamr masonry, and replace fixed light window with <br /> bronze aluminum window. Several windows will be enclosed <br /> by the use of masonry. Estimated cost: S10,000. <br /> <br />Hilanders Recreation Center. Enclose back windows with <br />siding and sheet rock and install air conditioning i~n <br />enclosed rooms. Estimated cost: $13,000. <br /> <br /> <br />
