Bids were received on the Phase II of the Willett Hall renova- on November 6, 1986 at 2:00 PM. The project involves renova- tions of the lobby, toilet areas and construction of a new covered entrance. Virtexco Corporation has successfully completed other projects for the City; therefore, the Director of Public Works recommends that the contract be awarded to Virtexco Corporation. Total anticipated project costs are as follows: Base Bid (Virtexco Corporation) Contingencies (12%) Contract Administration and Inspection $644,860.00 77.383.00 15,757.00 TOTAL ANTICIPATED COST OF PHASE II $738,000.00 The 1986-87 Capital Improvement Program idientifies funds for Phase II of Willett Hall renovations. An amount totaling $40,000.0 remains from Phase I, therefore, only $698,000.00 is required to complete this phase. I, therefore, concur w~th the Director of Public Works and recommend that Council appropriate $698,000.00 from the Capital Improvement Program and that a construction contract be awarded to rirtexco Corporation." On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the follow- .rig ordinance was approved on first reading, a~d'was adopted by unanimous vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $698,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR PHASE II OF THE WILLETT AUDITORIUM RENOVATIONS."
