October 25, 2016 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that it endorses the positions listed on Exhibit A hereto for inclusion in the <br />Legislative Package for consideration by the 115th Congress and directs that both this <br />Resolution and the Legislative Package be forwarded to the City’s congressional <br />representatives. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> that the City Manager and/or her designee(s) are <br />hereby authorized and directed to provide necessary input and clarification during the <br />th <br />115 Congress session and to carry out other activities as needed to assist in attaining <br /> <br />the goals and objectives contained in the City’s 2017 Legislative Package.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Whitaker, Wright <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />16-344(c): <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“RESOLUTIONREQUESTING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF VIRGINIA TO AMEND <br /> <br />THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA. <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> That the General Assembly of Virginia is hereby requested to amend the Charter <br />of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Repeal Chapter 11. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br />2.
