February 10, 1987 <br /> <br /> The Public Works Director, Public Utilities Director and City <br />Engineer have all concurred on abandonment of the easement which is <br />shown on the attached map. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney;s Office has preapared the attached resolu- <br />tion to abandon the easement, and I recommend its approval." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb,~the following <br />resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO RELEAS£ TO <br />THE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMEN~ AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH A CERTAIN SANITARY SEWER EASEMENT LOCATED IN <br />THE BEECHDALE COMMERCE PARK. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Industrial Development Authority of the City of <br />Portsmouth has assembled certain property on Victory Boulevard and <br />Gust Lane for development purposes~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a certain existing sanitary sewer easement is located <br />on said proFerty, the location of which is detrimental to the <br />development potential of the Froperty; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said sanitary sewer easement is no longer required <br />for public utility purposes. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby ms, <br />authorized to release to the Industrial Development Authority of <br />the City of Portsmouth a certain sanitary sewer easement located in <br />the Beechdale Commerce Park, more particularly described as follows <br /> <br /> All that certain sanitary sewer easement designated as <br /> 'Existing 12' Sanitary Sewer Easement, Deed Book 485, page <br /> 315' located on Parcel B as shown on that certain plat <br /> entitled 'Subdivision of Property Owned by the Industrial <br /> Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia', <br />known as Beechdale Commerce Park, dated June 11, 1984, a copy <br /> of which is attached hereto. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />is, authorized to sign such deeds and other documents as may be <br />necessary to compiete this transaction." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Holley <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-48 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a resolution to appoint viewers for closing of a portion of Fifth_ <br />Street CJ~mestown ~venue) north of Ann Street. <br /> <br /> "The adjacent property owners, David J. and Ann E. Kidd, Jr., <br />and Mishael and Helen M. Gulick have made application to close a <br />portion of Fifth Avenue north of Ann Street. I recommend ado~ption <br />of the resolution appointing viewers for further consideratmon of <br />this application." <br /> <br /> Mo~ion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, to appoint <br /> viewers. <br /> <br /> Substitute motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, that <br />the matter be deferred to the meeting of March 10, i987, and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 87-49 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a resolution to appoint viewers to close a portion of an alley on <br />the west side of Douglas Avenue. <br /> <br /> <br />
