February 10, 1987 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution adopted by this Council on March 25, <br />1986, designated as resolution 1986-37, the City Manager was autho- <br />rized To convey certain City-owned property in the PortCentre de- <br /> area to the Portsmouth Industrial Development Authority; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain title issues have developed concerning the <br />;onsolidation of said property for resale to developers, which titl <br />issues are more readily resolved by the statutory authority o£ <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority to initiate legal <br />)roceedings; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, additional property has been designated <br />qithin the district due to street closures which have <br />~nd additional surveying and engineering requirements. <br /> <br />to be <br />been approved <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby ms, <br />rized to convey to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Author- <br />ity all those parcels of City-owned property described in the <br />cesolution adopted by this Council on March 25, 1986, designated as <br /> ~tion 1986-37. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />authorized to convey to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br /> y the following described property: <br /> <br /> All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, situate, <br /> lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being _ y <br />--~more p~rticularly described as follows: beginning at a <br /> p6i~v;on the~west~gide of First Street 48' north of the <br /> northwest interseczion of First Street and Henry Street at <br /> the line of proFerty formerly belonging to Mrs. Margaret <br /> Buckley, thence running west and parallel with Henry Street <br /> 120'; thence north and parallel with First Street 46'; <br /> thence east and parallel with Henry Street 120' to a point <br /> on the west side of First Street; thence south along the <br /> ~est side of First Street 46' to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> All right, title and interest of the City of Portsmouth, <br />in and to those streets, alleys, lanes and other thorough- <br />fares closed by ordinance adopted by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held January <br />1987. <br /> <br /> BE I% FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />authorized to sign such ~deeds and other documents as may be <br /> y to complete this transaction. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the resolution adopted by this <br /> uncil on March 25, 1986, designated as Resolution 1986-37, be, <br />nd the same hereby is, repealed." <br /> <br />Ayes: Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-46 Letter from the City Manager recomending adoption of a <br />esolution to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement <br />qith Sweetbriar Development Corporation and CSX Transportation, Inc <br />~or installation of a water line and sanitary sewer. <br /> <br />"Sweetbriar Development Corporation has initiated subdivision <br />developmen~ plans for the Greenwood Industrial Park to be locat~ <br />in the vicinity of Seaguard Avenue and Bedford Court. The develop- <br />nent of this property necessitates the extension of water and sewer <br />~tility service across the main line of CSX Transportation, Inc., tc <br /> <br /> <br />
