As part of the annual budget process, an estimate of expected grant awards is
used to establish the grants budget for the subsequent fiscal year. Since the final FY
2015-16 grant award amounts were not known during the adoption of the FY2015-16
grants budget in ordinance 2015-29 on May 12, 2015, there are differences between
initial grant award estimates and final grant award amounts for FY2015-16. Based on
review of the actual budget and final grant award notifications from the state and federal
government, the School Board was awarded $35,952 more in funds than what was
originally estimated in the original grants budget in ordinance 2015-29.
