Dated January 14, 1987, Signed <br />by Michael Blaye, Assistant Director for Marketing and Development" <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, that GHP 86-- be <br />withdrawn, as requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />REPORTS FROM THE CITY MANAGER - <br /> <br /> 87-65 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />~n ordinance to appropriate $186,261 from the Caoital ImproVement <br />Fund for renovation and restoration projects at ~ouglass Park <br />Elementary School, Hodges Manor Elementary School, Churchland <br />Elementary, and Ali J. Mapp Junior High School. <br /> <br /> "The School Board has adopted a resolution requesting the City <br />Council to appropriate S186,261 from the Capital Improvement Fund <br />for several projects. Included in their request are the following <br />renovation and restoration projects. <br /> <br />o Douglass Park Elementary School <br /> enhancements $50,000 <br /> <br />electrical services <br /> <br />o Hodges Manor Elementary School <br /> fault $44,000 <br /> <br />repair of a major hallway <br /> <br /> o Churchland Elementary - drainage improvements $17,D00 <br /> <br /> o Ali J. Mapp Junior High School asbestos removal $75,261 <br /> <br /> I have discussed these projects with the Superintendent of <br />Schools and concur with his recommendation that the funds be appro- <br />sriated. These funds are available from prior year authorizations <br />in the Capital tnprovemen~ Program." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the following <br />prdinance was approved on first reading, and was adopted by unani- <br />mous ¥ote~ <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $186.261 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR MISCELLANEOUS SCHOOL RENOVATION <br />AND RESTORATION PROJECTS." <br /> <br /> 87-66 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />an ordinance to appropriate $157,000 from the Capital Improvement <br />Fund for miscellaneous drainage improvements and Gosport outfall, <br />which includes drainage improvements to Alabama Avenue, Thel~ar Lane <br />and Hodges Ferry Road; to award of contract to responsive, low bidde <br /> <br /> "As you are aware, sixteen Hot Spots projects have been com- <br />leted since 1983. The 1986 Hot Spot Program identified three <br />~rojects with <br />· twelve additional projects recommended for considera- <br />tion. The following is a listing of the 1986 priority projects: <br /> <br />o Swanson Homes Outfall <br />o 1300 block of Hodges Ferry Road <br />o Drainage outfall from end of Thelmar <br /> Lane to west of Earl Street <br /> <br /> <br />
