To be ready, it will <br />be necessary to order a fourth vehicle, so that a backuo will alway~ <br />be available. <br /> <br /> the Director of General Services has informed me that the City <br />can order this ambulance from a previously bid 1986 purchase order. <br />The price for the ambulance, to be supplied by Fire Brand Emergency <br />Vehicles, Inc., will be $44,148. In addition, it will be necessary <br />to purchase new medical equipment at an estimated cost of ~17,000, <br />and new communications equipment at an estimated cost of $20,000. <br />For your information, I expect the ambulance and rescue service bud <br />get to inzrease about 33% next year or aoproximately $800,000, <br />mainly due to higher operational costs of the third vehicle. <br /> <br /> I concur with the recommendation of the Director of General <br />Services, and therefore request that you approve transfer from the <br />Emergency Budget Contingency in the amount of $81,148 for the <br />implementation of the enhanced ambulance operation." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. W~bb and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that authori- <br />zation be granted to transfor $81,148 from Emergency Budget Contin- <br />gency, as requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 87-85 Letter from the City ~4anager recommending adoption of <br />a motion to refund $131.79 (without interest) to Dallas Eure for <br />1986 Personal Property Taxes. <br /> <br />"The Commissioner of Revenue ~s requestlnga refund on 1986 <br />Ipersonal property taxes to Dallas Eure, 5 Shea Street, Portsmouth, <br /> Virginia 23701 in the amount of $121.79, without interest. <br /> <br /> Mr. Eure was over assessed on his vehicle by $2450.00; there- <br />fore, a refund is requested. <br /> <br /> <br />
