December 9, 2014 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and /or his designee(s) are <br />hereby authorized and directed to provide necessary input and clarification during the <br />114th Congress session and to carry out other activities as needed to assist in attaining <br />the goals and objectives contained in the City's 2015 Federal Legislative Agenda <br />Package." <br />Ayes: Cherry, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />14 - 473 - Adoption of a motion to <br />Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. <br />Government. <br />accept and file the City's FY2013 -14 <br />Vision Principle: Efficient, Responsive <br />Background: <br />State Code Section 15.2 -2511 requires that the Certified Public Accountant who <br />audits the City's financial statements present a report to City Council by December 31 <br />each year. The audit partner will present the audit to Council for acceptance and filing. <br />Discussion: <br />• The City's auditor, Cherry Bakaert will present the CAFR to City Council for <br />acceptance and filing. <br />Financial Impact: <br />• There is no financial impact. <br />Recommended Action: <br />• Staff recommends that City Council make a motion to accept and file the City's <br />FY 2013 -14 CAFR. Vision Principle. Efficient, Responsive Government. <br />1. Mark Geduldig - Yatrofsky, P. O. Box, asked that City Council rescind the vehicle <br />registration fee and re- appropriate part of the net available fund balance to pay the <br />amount that would have been collected from that fee. He also asked that enough <br />funds be re- appropriated to the School Board to provide 1 % monetary compensation <br />to school employees. <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to adopt a motion to accept <br />and file the City's FY2013 -14 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, and was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Cherry, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />14 - 474 - Adoption of a motion accepting the 2015 Calendar of City Council <br />Meetings. Vision Principle: Efficient, Responsive Government. <br />Background: <br />• The Portsmouth City Council normally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday <br />of each month, and the Monday prior to the second and fourth Tuesday regular <br />meeting, except during the month of December where they meet on the second <br />Tuesday and the Monday prior. <br />Discussion: <br />• This action would allow the City Council to give advance notification to the <br />citizens, media, and city departments of the 2015 meeting schedule. <br />Financial Impact: <br />• There is no financial impact. <br />Staff Recommends: <br />• Adoption of a motion.
