<br />M-l, approved on first reading at the Public
<br />Hearing of March 24, 1987, was taken up and rea,

<br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the following
<br />~rdinanse was adopted on final reading, and was adopted by the follc
<br />ing vote:

<br />(c) Resolution granting a use permit to Alliance Life Care
<br />Corporation to operate a 180-bed nursing home in the Cavalier Manor
<br /> hborhood, approved on first reading at the Public Hearing of
<br /> 24, 1987, was taken up and read.
<br />
<br /> Cnuncilpers6n Lucas stated that She would abstain .inasmuch as
<br />the STOP organization had entered into a joint management agreement
<br />~ith the Atlicance Life Care Corporation.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the followir
<br />resolution was adopted on final reading, and was adopted by the
<br />following vote:

<br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT TO ALLIANCE LIFE CARE
<br />CORPORATION TO OPERATE A ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY BED NURSING
<br />HOME IN THE CAVALIER MANOR NEIGHBORHOOD.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Steven Gold, Vice-President of Operations for Allianc~
<br />Life Care Corporation, has made application pursuant to ~40-75 (b)
<br />of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, as amended, for th{
<br /> ranting of a use permit as hereinafter-described; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Diredtoi have done all
<br /> hings required ~o be done in connection with said applidagio~; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the granting
<br />of said use permit with conditions.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
