May 26, 1987 <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Ports- <br />i ~lmouth authorizes the City Manager to plan, budget, and apply for a <br />] /IGrant which, if approved, will be used to fund said program and her <br /> by requests the Department of Conservation and Historice Resources, <br /> Division of Litter of Control, to consider and approve the applica- <br /> tion and program, said program being in accord with the regulations <br /> governing the use and expenditure of such funds.' <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Holle) <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-244 Letter from the.City Manager recommending adoFtion of <br /> a motion approving an amendment to the sub-lease and option agree- <br /> ments with Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority pertaining ~ <br /> renovation and use of the former Sears Building on High Street. <br /> On December 9, 1986, City C~uncil authorized the issuance of <br />a sublease agreement ~ith Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />I Authority for renovation of the former Sears building on High Street <br />· land us~ hr'the facility~by ~he~S~c~a~ Services Department, City <br /> ~Physician and other City agencies~. Subsequently, certain terms of <br /> ~ ~the agreement pertaining~to submission and approval of building <br /> ~plans, is~uanc~ of buildmng permits and construction schedules as <br /> ! |~well as the option to purchase have been changed. <br /> <br /> The parties have finalized these arrangement~ and prepared an <br /> amendment to ~he original lease and sublease documents between <br /> Goodman-Segar-~ogan, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br /> and the City. Occupancy by the City departments is anticipated to <br /> be Octeber 1, 1987. <br /> I recommend approval of a motion to authorize ~he signing of <br /> an amendment to the sublease and option agreements with Portsmouth <br /> Redevelopment and Housing Authority pertaining to these matters," <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Gray, that authoriza- <br /> tion be granted to sign an amendment to th~ sublease and~option <br /> tlagreement~ with Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority;-as <br /> /,requested, and was adopted bY unanim°us v°te' <br /> 87-245 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br /> a motion ~o transmit the Quarterly Financial Report for the period <br /> ended March 31, 1~87. <br /> "In accordance with Section 11-43 of the City Code, the Quarte' <br /> ly Financial Report for the period ended March 31, 1987, is he <br /> Isubmitted. <br /> For the third quarter of the fiscal year, revenues are slightl~ <br /> grea~er ~han at this time last Fear and expenditures are e~ven with <br /> last year. Actual revenues ~o ~ate stand at 68 percent of the <br /> revenues estimated for the year, and 66 percent of the appropriatio~ <br /> have been expended as of Ma~ch 31, 1~87. During the same quarter <br /> last year 67 percent of the estimated revenues had been received <br /> and e~penditures w~e~66 percent of the budget appropriations. At <br /> this point, there does not appear to be any indication of substan- <br /> tial problems with respect to either the revenues or the expenditur~ <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by ~rs.
