· 862 June 23, 1987 Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Gray to adopt the ordinance. Substitute motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the ordinance be tabled, and was adopted by unanimous vote. 87-276 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption an ordinance to close a portion of Fifth Street. "In connection with development of Phase I~ of the PortCentre Commercial Complex, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to close a port~on of Fifth Street between Harrison and Henry Street. The viewers report and the Planning Commission recommend approval of the application. It will be necessary to retain easements for existing utilitic until such time as the utilities have been relocated. I recommend adoption of the ordinance enclosing this portion of Fifth Street." On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the follow- ing ordinance was adopted on first and final reading, and by the following vote: "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF FIFTH STREET.' Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Holl~ Nays: None 87-277 Letter from the City Manager recommending ad~tion o] an ordinance to close a portion of the North Street right-of-way. "Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to close a small remaining portion of North Street east of Mt. Vernon Avenue. The viewers report and Planning Commis:ion recommend approval of the application. ~, I recommend adoption of the ordinance closing this portion of the North Street right-of-way." On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Simpson, the follo~ lng ordinance was adopted on first and final reading, and by the fcllowing vote: 'AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF NORTH STREET." Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Holle Nays: None 87-278 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption a resolution to appoint viewers for closing of a portion of Reid Street. o~ "Alton F. Catlett has made application to close a portion of Reid Street. The Notice of Application and Request for Appointment of Viewers has been duly advertised as required by law. I recommez adoption of the resolution appointing viewers. On metion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Gray, the followir resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION OF REID STREET.
