408 <br /> <br />July 28, 1987. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 6 Froposes to extend the periods of <br />time during which the Plan will be effective and made applicable <br />land conveyed within the project area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment <br />has resolved that this Amendment is in the <br />City's renewal effort; and <br /> <br />and Housing Authority <br />best interest of the <br /> <br />tO <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are <br />imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community Development <br />Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination <br />because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the ~tarest <br />of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Amendment No. 6 to the Conservation and Redevelopment <br />Plan for the Park View Cons.ervation and Redevelopment Project, <br />having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: <br /> <br /> (a) That the objectives of the Park View Conservation <br />and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better <br />achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. <br /> <br /> (b) That Amendment No. 6 to the Plan for the project <br />area meets she requirements of a plan for a conservation and <br />redevelopment Froject pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code <br />of Virginia, 1985, as amended. <br /> <br /> 2. That lmendment No. 6 to the Park View Conservation and <br />Redevelopment Plan for the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment <br />Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby <br />and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said <br />Amendment with the minutes of this meeting." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, SimFson, Webb, Holler <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-333 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />a resolution approving Amendment No. 7 to the Norths[de Redevelop- <br />ment Plan for the Northside Redevelopment Project. <br /> <br />See letter Item No. 87-32-. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the follow- <br />ing resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 7 TO THE NORTHSIDE <br />REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE NORTHSIDE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. <br /> <br />resolution adopted Au~us~ 9, 1966, <br />for the Northside Redevelopment <br />(Plan); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by <br />approved a Redevelopment Plan <br />Project, Portsmouth, Virginia <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented ~o this body for cons~derati <br />and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which <br />Plan consists of 16 pages and 2 exhibits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 7 Froposes to extend the periods of <br />time during which the Plan will be effective and made applicable <br />to land conveyed within the project area; and <br /> <br />and Hosuing Authority <br />best interest of the <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment <br />has resolved that this Amendment ~s in the <br />City's renewal effort; and <br /> <br /> <br />
