408 July 28, 1987. WHEREAS, Amendment No. 6 Froposes to extend the periods of time during which the Plan will be effective and made applicable land conveyed within the project area; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment has resolved that this Amendment is in the City's renewal effort; and and Housing Authority best interest of the tO WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the ~tarest of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 6 to the Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Park View Cons.ervation and Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) That the objectives of the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. (b) That Amendment No. 6 to the Plan for the project area meets she requirements of a plan for a conservation and redevelopment Froject pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1985, as amended. 2. That lmendment No. 6 to the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting." Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, SimFson, Webb, Holler Nays: None 87-333 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of a resolution approving Amendment No. 7 to the Norths[de Redevelop- ment Plan for the Northside Redevelopment Project. See letter Item No. 87-32-. On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the follow- ing resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 7 TO THE NORTHSIDE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE NORTHSIDE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. resolution adopted Au~us~ 9, 1966, for the Northside Redevelopment (Plan); and WHEREAS, this Council by approved a Redevelopment Plan Project, Portsmouth, Virginia WHEREAS, there has been presented ~o this body for cons~derati and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which Plan consists of 16 pages and 2 exhibits; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 7 Froposes to extend the periods of time during which the Plan will be effective and made applicable to land conveyed within the project area; and and Hosuing Authority best interest of the WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment has resolved that this Amendment ~s in the City's renewal effort; and
