407 July 28, 1987 WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for considera- tmon and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which Plan consists of 22 pages and 3 exhibits; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 6 proposes ~o extend the periods of time during which th~ Plan will be effective and made applicable land conveyed within the project area; and t£ WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Hosuing Authority has resolved that this Amendment xs in the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed BY the provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because o£ race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the interes~ of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be a NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 6 to the Conservation and Redevel, Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and RedevelopmeJtProject, having been duly revmewed and considered, it is hereby found: (a) That the Objectives of the Mount Hermon Conserva- tion and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Firginia, can be bett~ achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. (b) That Amendment No. 6 to the Plan for the Project area mee~s the requirements of a plan for a conservation and redevel6pment project pursuant to Chapter 1 of %itle 36 of the of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 2. That Amendment No. 6 to the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting." On motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the lng resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO THE PARK VIEW CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE PARK VIEW CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT.
