407 <br /> <br />July 28, 1987 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for considera- <br />tmon and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, <br />which Plan consists of 22 pages and 3 exhibits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 6 proposes ~o extend the periods of <br />time during which th~ Plan will be effective and made applicable <br />land conveyed within the project area; and <br /> <br />t£ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Hosuing Authority <br />has resolved that this Amendment xs in the best interest of the <br />City's renewal effort; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are <br />imposed BY the provisions of the Housing and Community Development <br />Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination <br />because o£ race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the interes~ <br />of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment be a <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Amendment No. 6 to the Conservation and Redevel, <br />Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and RedevelopmeJtProject, <br />having been duly revmewed and considered, it is hereby found: <br /> <br /> (a) That the Objectives of the Mount Hermon Conserva- <br />tion and Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Firginia, can be bett~ <br />achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan. <br /> <br /> (b) That Amendment No. 6 to the Plan for the Project <br />area mee~s the requirements of a plan for a conservation and <br />redevel6pment project pursuant to Chapter 1 of %itle 36 of the <br />of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> 2. That Amendment No. 6 to the Mount Hermon Conservation <br />and Redevelopment Plan for the Mount Hermon Conservation and <br />Redevelopment Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, <br />is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file <br />a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 87-322 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption o <br />a resolution approving Amendment No. 6 to the Park View Conserva- <br />taon and Redevelopment Plan for the Park View Conservation and <br />Redevelopment Project. <br /> <br />See letter Item No. 87-328. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the <br />lng resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO THE PARK VIEW <br />CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE PARK VIEW <br />CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted June 25, 1968, <br />approved a Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Park View <br />Conservation and Redevelopment Project Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan) <br />and ' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, theme has been presented to this body <br />tlon and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the <br />which Plan consists of 21 pages and 3 exhibits; and <br /> <br />for considera- <br />project area, <br /> <br /> <br />
