405 July 28, 1987 87-329 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Cradock Conservation Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project. See letter in Item No. 87-328. On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Gray, the following resolution was adopted, and by the folIowmng vote: "A RESOLUTION APPROVING ~ENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE CP~ADOCK CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE CRADOCK CONSERVATION PROJECT. WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted September 26, 1978 approved a Conservation Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project, Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for considerati and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which Plan consists of 4 pages and 2 exhibits; and WHEREAS, amendment No. 1 proposes to extend the periods of time during which the Plan will be effective; and WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has resolved that this Amendment is mn the best interest of the City's renewal effort; and WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are · mposed by the provisions of the Hon~ing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the interes of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment is approved NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Amendment No. 1 Cradock Conservation Project, it is hereby found: to the Conservation Plan for the having been duly reviewed and conside (a) That the objectives Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can of said Amendment to the Plan. of the Cradock Conservation be better achieved by the adopti (b) That Amendment No. 1 to the Plan for the project meets the requirements of a plan for a conservation project pursuant to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. 2. That Amendment No. 1 to the Cradock Conservation Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project, having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this meeting."
