405 <br /> <br />July 28, 1987 <br /> <br /> 87-329 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br /> resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Cradock Conservation <br />Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project. <br /> <br />See letter in Item No. 87-328. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Gray, the following <br />resolution was adopted, and by the folIowmng vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION APPROVING ~ENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE CP~ADOCK <br />CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE CRADOCK CONSERVATION PROJECT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted September 26, 1978 <br />approved a Conservation Plan for the Cradock Conservation Project, <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for considerati <br />and approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area, which <br />Plan consists of 4 pages and 2 exhibits; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, amendment No. 1 proposes to extend the periods of <br />time during which the Plan will be effective; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />has resolved that this Amendment is mn the best interest of the <br />City's renewal effort; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are <br />· mposed by the provisions of the Hon~ing and Community Development <br />Act of 1974, as amended, including those prohibiting discrimination <br />because of race, age, color, creed, sex or national origin; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the judgement of this Council it is in the interes <br />of the City and its inhabitants that the said Amendment is approved <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Amendment No. 1 <br />Cradock Conservation Project, <br />it is hereby found: <br /> <br />to the Conservation Plan for the <br />having been duly reviewed and conside <br /> <br /> (a) That the objectives <br />Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can <br />of said Amendment to the Plan. <br /> <br />of the Cradock Conservation <br />be better achieved by the adopti <br /> <br /> (b) That Amendment No. 1 to the Plan for the project <br />meets the requirements of a plan for a conservation project pursuant <br />to Chapter 1 of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> 2.
