Kelly, Sr. to be appointed to fill an unexpired term, <br />ending July 1, 1990; replacing Raymond M. Spaugh. <br /> <br />Supplemental Retirement Board <br /> <br /> Cdr. Howard K. Darden, Police Department, to be appointed for <br />~ term of four years, ending October 1, 1991; replacing Capt. D. W <br />Wilder, Fire Department. <br /> <br /> Harold A. Goodman to be reappointed for a term of four years, <br />ending October 1, 1991. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to close <br />nominations, and there being no further nominations, the above <br />members were elected to the designated Board/Commission, and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 87-419 - The following citizens spoke on concerns of the ~ . <br />structure, procedure, and operation of the Board of Zoning Appeals: <br /> <br /> Jesse H. Overton, Jr., 82 Ericsson Street <br /> Lorna Ellis, 90 Ericsson Street <br /> Tony Portens, 48 Channing Avenue. <br /> Richard H. Ramsey, Sr., 4300 South Street, <br /> P~ecinct Ci¥i~Forum, <br /> Shirley T. Wright, 4307 South Street. <br /> The City Managez and City At~orney ~ere2directed to look into <br />Zhe concerns brnught before Council. <br /> <br />(See Kxhibit 87-419) <br />representing <br /> <br /> Mayor Holley designated Vice Mayor Webb, Councilmen Barnes and <br />Simpson to attend BOZA meeting. <br /> <br /> 87~Z48 ~ Bill Watson, 200 Gee Street, representing Highland- <br />Biltmore Civic League, spoke concerning purchase of property at <br />71S Summers Place. <br /> <br /> 87-420 The following citizens spoke in opposition of the <br />relocation of railroad tracks in the median of the Western Freeway: <br /> <br /> Donald E. Robertson, Sr., 3625 Forest Haven Lane, representing <br />~ L~urel Gardens~and ~est Churc~lan~ <br /> ~in petition: <br /> <br /> "We, the undersigned taxpayers strongly oppose the relocation- <br />of the Norfolk & Southern Railway in the median of the Western Free. <br />way and Interstate 664 for the conveaience of those advocates who <br />purchased or constructed their homes adjacent to those existing <br />tracks, signed by Ruth Hauseman, 3924 Old Farm Road, and others." <br /> <br /> <br />
