The proj~ects o~his:'list to'be completed at this <br />time arenas follows: <br /> <br /> Naval Avenue (behind Portsmouth General) <br /> County Street Outfall (drainage from Swanson'Homes) <br /> Watts Avenue and Richmond Avenue <br /> Crawford Parkway (adjacent~'t~) ~t Crawford Parkway) <br /> Gregory Court (east end in turnaround) <br /> 104 Shore Drive (rerouting of drainage ditch in front <br /> yard ) <br /> D~t~oit Street at L~e'Avenue (addition~of_drain) <br /> <br /> Bids were received on November 17, 1987 at 11:00 a.m. A <br />tabulation~of these~bids ~s sh6wn on-Attachment No. <br /> <br /> The total anticipated cost of the project is as follows: <br /> <br />Contract Price (P & P U~ility Contractors) $ 81,377.50 <br />Contingencies ..... 20,322.50 <br />Contract Administration . 15,000.00 <br />Relocation of utilities 15;000.00 <br /> <br />TOTAL ANTICIPATED PROJECT COST <br /> <br />$131,700..00 <br /> <br /> In order to expedite correction of other minor drainage <br />problems as they are received, we request the appropriation of the~ <br />entire $163,000 as there are presently several other areas being <br />considered ~or this program. - - ' ~ <br /> <br /> In s~mmary, the City Engineer recommends appropriation of <br />$163,000 and award of the contract to P & P utility Contractors <br />the amount of $81,377.50. <br /> <br /> ~Therefore, I concur a~d~recommend appropriation, of'the <br />necessary~funds-and award of the contract to the low bidder." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the following <br />ordinance was approved-on first-reading, and was adopted by <br />unanimous vote: ...... <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO:~APPROPRIATE $163,000~FROM THECAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR MISCELLANEOUS~DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS." <br /> <br /> 87-529 ~ Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />of a resolution authorizing the Police ~utual~Aid~Agreement with <br />the City of Suffolk. <br /> <br /> "The City of Suffolk has reqUested that'Portsmouth enter <br />a Police Mutual Aid Agreement to provide assistance in the form o{ <br />manpower or equipmentcas ma~-from time to time. be requested by <br />either jurisdiction. As'is the~ case with other Mutual~Aid <br />Agreements the requested 3urisdiction would provide assistance <br />only when it determines that sufficient~ resources are available t¢ <br />continue appropriate police protection in its jurisdiction. <br /> <br /> <br />
