On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, to <br />award the contract to Virginia Turf Management Associates <br />the lo~ bidder for PortCentre landscaping PhaSe I, and by the <br />following vote: . : : <br /> <br /> Ayes:~Corprew, Gray, Lucas,:Simpson, Williams, Webb <br /> Nays: None . : <br /> <br /> 88-10:4 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />of a mo.tion to award a contract ~to the low bidder~ for Charles <br />Peete Recreation Complex, . . ~ . <br /> <br /> ."The-t986-91 Capital Improvement Program identified $100,000 <br />to construct a major league ballfield at the Charles Peete <br />Recreation Complex. These funds were appropriated by Council on <br />June 23/ 1987. All of the scheduiled improvements have been <br />completed with: the exception of t~he constru.ct:ion of a 50-space <br />parking lotland related.~work,. The current Golf Professional Mr. Thomas J. <br />Whillock, has informed the City he is not interested in submittinc <br />a proposal for the operation of the new complex. However, he has <br />graciously agreed to stay on untill a new Golf Course Manager is <br />selected. <br /> <br /> <br />
