Of this appropriation,~a Portion <br />was earmarked for lanldscaping of ~the entrance way onc~ 'the <br />infrastructure construction was substantially complete. This <br />landscaping will'tie into the land'scap~ng currently underway at <br />the downtown tunnel entrance. (See attach~.d map~, <br /> <br /> Bidswere received for Phase' I:on Februaryl 23, 1988. The <br />bids were competitive and in line wit. h today's ~o~nStruetion <br />costs (see Attachm~nt~ No. 1). The total~anticiPa~ted proj~ect <br />cost (including contingencies, contract administration and <br />inspeCtion) is calculated as follows: <br /> <br />Construction Con%ract (VA Turf ,Management Assoc%)$33~83','00 <br />Contingen-cies' ~'? < $13,~317~.00 <br />Contract Administration & Inspection $ 1,500.00 <br /> <br />TOTAL ANTICIPATED PROJECT COST $381~,200.00 <br /> <br /> The construction time for Port Centre Landscaping, Phase <br />I, is 60 calendar days!~ <br /> <br /> The City Engineer recommends that a contract be awarded to <br />the low bidder, Virginia Turf Management Associates, Inc. in <br />the amount of $33,38~3.00 for the installat~ion of the : ' <br />landscaping. As indicated above, no additional appropriation <br />is necessary. <br /> <br /> I, ~therefore, concur and recommend award of a contract to <br />the low bidder." <br /> <br /> <br />
