88-101 Letter from the City Manager recommendiing denial of
an ordinance to close a portion of kmelia Avenue.

"Application has been made by Mr. and Mrs. Terry McDaniel and
Mr. Timothy Stephenson to close~a portion of Amelia Avenue north
of Griffin Street. Both the Planning Commission and the viewers
report hav~ recommended approval of this r~equest~

However, as I have indicated to you in bon]unction with the
Capital Improvement Pffa:n;~the~ completion of t~he'unimproved
sections of Clifford Street from City Park to Airline Boulevard is
an integral part of the City Park development plan.~ In connectior
with this, the intersectin~ streets such as Amelia Avenue may als¢
become important factors in the traffic pattern'~

Therefore, I recommend denial of the Ordinance pertaining to
a portion of Amelia Avenue north of Griffin Street. If, in the
future, Amelia Avenue does noit become a part of the necessary
traffic pattern, another application could be considered."
