Stuart Bolling company, Inc. in the amount of $1,808,846.50. <br />The Capital Improvement Program previously authorized <br />$50,000.00 for this project; therefore, an appropriation Of <br />$1,180,000.00 is required at this time. The balance of the <br />amount required, $820,000.00, is a port of the Community <br />Development'Block Gra~t Program for 1988. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, concur and recommend appropriation of the <br />necessary funds and award of the contract t~ the low bidder." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Simpson, the <br />following ordinance Was approved on first reading, and award of <br />the contract to A. Stuart Bolling Company, Inc., low bidder and <br />by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $1,180,000 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR INFRASTRUCTURE REHABILITATION <br />INCLUDING RECONSTRUCTION OF ROADS, WATER MAINS AND STORM <br />DRAINAGE FOR PORTCENTRE PROJECT, PHASE II A." <br /> <br /> 88-121 - Letter from the City Manager recommending <br />adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $58.5,000 from the <br />Capital Improvement Fund for reconstruCtion of Harper Road in <br />the Pinners Point area. . i i ~ ~ ~ <br /> <br /> "The Virginia Department of Transportation recently <br />approved an industrial access road grant in the amount of <br />$442,550 for the reconstruction of Harper road in the PinnerS <br />Point area. The 1987-92 Capital Improvement Program allocates <br />$585,000 for this project in 1987-88, of which $142,500 would <br />be the local share. An appropriation of $585,000~ is requested <br />in order that we may accept the grant and initiate design work <br />on the project. Once the design is complete and the project <br />bid, this matter will be brought back before City CounCil for <br />award of bid, The City's expenses Will be reimbursed by the <br />State (up to $421,500) after completion of the project. This <br />is the same procedure used for the City Park recreation access <br />road project. <br /> <br /> <br />
