the <br /> <br />¸69 <br /> <br />April 26, 1988 <br /> <br />88-106 The following ordinance approved on first reading at <br />Regular Meeting of April 26, 1988, was taken up and read: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY ADDING TO CHAPTER 40 THEREOF ARTICLE XIV, <br />PERTAINING TO REGULATING THE USE AND DEVELOPMENT OF WETLAND". <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />ordinance with removal of the-emergency clause, was adopted on <br />final reading, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, <br /> Williams, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Lucas, Simpson, <br /> <br />REPORTS FROM THE CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> 88-172 Letter from the City Manager~r~commending adoption <br />of an ordinance closing a portion of alley between Channel Avenue <br />and Mariner Avenue. <br /> <br /> "Bennlngton Properties has made application to close a <br />portion of the alley between Channel Avenue and Mariner Avenue. <br /> <br /> The viewers previously <br />approval of the application. <br />this recommendation. <br /> <br />appointed by Council have recommended <br /> The Planning Co,miss-ion concurs in <br /> <br /> I recommend adoption of the ordinance closing~ a portion of <br />the alley as requested by the applicant". <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Simpsoh and seconded by Mr. Corprew, the <br />following ordinance was adopted on first and final reading, and by <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF ALLEY BETWEEN CHANNEL <br />AVENUE AND MARINER AVENUE." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, <br /> Williams, Webb <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Lucas, Simpson <br /> <br /> 88-173 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption <br />of an ordinance recommending the closure of a portion of <br />Shipwright Street. <br /> <br /> "Herbert A. Haneman, Jr. has made application to close a <br />portion of Shipwright Street~ <br /> <br /> The viewers previously appointed by Council have recommended <br />approval of the application.
