i24 June 14, 1988 "The City Attorney's Office has be~n cOhducting their annual review of actions taken b!/ the~Generat Assembly to determine whether or not amendments to the City Code are required The City Attorney has recommended the attached amendments to the City Code ~in Order to assure our City"S conformity to the State's enabling legislation. I therefore concur, in that recommendation." Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the following ordinance was adopted on first and final reading, and by the following vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 23-470.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO MOTOR VEHICLES." Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, GraY,LucaS, Simpson, Williams Nays: Non9 88-227 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of an ordinance to amend Sections 26-4 and 26-6 pertaining to membership on the Planning Commission. "See Item 88-226 letter" Moti°n of ~r. B~rnes and secohded byI Mr. Corprew, the following ordinance was adopted On first and final reading, and by the following vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 26-4 AND 26-6 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO MEMBERSHIP ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION." Ayes: Barnes, Corprew , Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Williams Nays: NOne 88-228 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of an ordinance to amend Chapter 21 of the city Code pertaining to miscellaneous criminal offenses. "See Item 88-226 letter" Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the following ordinance was adopted on first and final reading, and by the following vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER ~21 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 21-18.1, 21-21, 21-38(a), (d) and (f), 21-40, 21-41, 21-81~ 21-120, AND 21-133, THEREOF, AND BY ENACTING SECTIONS 21-34.1 AND 21-38.1 THERETO, PERTAINING TO MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES."
